This week I focused on the Cornell trip. It mainly consisted of fielding emails and reaching out to different people back on campus. I finalized details regarding activities on the day and have pending meetings to discuss housing and dining with Cornell housing. We are hoping that we can stay in dorms so the students can feel the full college experience.
The end of the week was spent preparing for the start of the summer employment program for the city youth. This week the Teen Leader started working. The role is a sort of assistant for the program and she has been very helpful and diligent in her support of the program. We were preparing all the materials and lesson plans for the activities in the program, as you can see to the left. Forming bags with all the materials and forms for the start of the program. Contacting all the youth after their interview and letting them know the location and other details about the program that starts next week.
