CCE Herkimer County is hiring a Workforce Development Program Coordinator

Position Summary: The Workforce Development Program Coordinator will support and coordinate the workforce development initiatives for the Mohawk Valley Regional Clean Energy Hub. Responsibilities include collaborating with educational institutions, business partners, and community partners, to establish the alignment between education, workforce training, and industry demand.

Work includes assisting in establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners and local stakeholders to recruit participants into the skilled workforce training programs to engage in energy efficiency jobs.

A firm understanding of relevant and related CCE programs is essential for success in this position. The coordinator will represent the Association before the public, community leaders, community organizations, and local government officials, and maintain effective working relationships with Cornell faculty and administration.

This is a full-time position (35 hours / week) at a starting pay range of $23-$26 / hour. Position is located at the CCE Herkimer County office in Herkimer, with travel to surrounding counties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work well with a variety of people and willingness to work with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as necessary (including some evenings and weekends).
  • Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines, requirements, and priorities to complete work in a timely manner and within established deadlines.
  • Ability to clearly communicate (speak, read, and write proficiently) in English.
  • Familiarity with windows-based software including use of the internet and Microsoft Office.

Minimum Degree of Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Associate degree with 2 years transferrable program/functional experience may substitute. Must be able to meet travel requirements of this position.
