Corn for grain production is estimated at 80.1 million bushels, down 7% from the 2019 estimate. The average yield in New York is estimated at 157.0 bushels per acre, 1.0 bushel below the 2019 average yield of 158.0 bushels per acre. Area harvested for grain is estimated at 510 thousand acres, down 6% from the previous year.
Corn silage production is estimated at 9.54 million tons, up 19% from 2019. Silage yield is estimated at 18.0 tons per acre, unchanged from 2019. Area harvested for silage is estimated at 530 thousand acres, up 19% from the previous year.
Oat production is estimated at 1.70 million bushels, down 28% from 2019. Yield is estimated at 53 bushels per acre, down 7.0 bushels from the previous year. Harvested area, at 32 thousand acres, is down 18% from the previous year.
Barley production is estimated at 300 thousand bushels, up 44% from 2019. Yield is estimated at 60.0 bushels per acre, this is a record high yield for New York and is up 8.0 bushels from the previous year. Harvested area, at 5,000 acres, is up 1,000 from the previous year.
Wheat production is estimated at 7.92 million bushels, up 90% from 2019. Yield is estimated at 66.0 bushels per acre, up 3.0 bushels from the previous year. Harvested area, at 120 thousand acres, is 82% above the previous year.
All dry hay production is estimated at 1.71 million tons, down 24% from 2019. Yield is estimated at 1.61 tons per acre, down 0.29 tons from the previous year. Harvested area, at 1.06 million acres, is 10% below the previous year.
Alfalfa Hay production is estimated at 570 thousand tons, is down 11% from 2019. Yield is estimated at 1.90 tons per acre, down 0.30 tons from the previous year. Harvested area, at 300 thousand acres, is up 3% from the previous year.
Forage production estimated at 3.64 million tons, is down 12% from 2019. Yield is estimated at 2.35 tons per acre, down 0.17 tons from the previous year. Harvest area, at 1.55 million acres, is down 5% from the previous year.
Soybean production is estimated at 15.9 million bushels, up 47% from 2019. Yield is estimated at 51.0 bushels per acre, up 3.0 bushels from the previous year. Harvested area, at 312 thousand acres, is up 39% from the previous year.
Maple Syrup production is estimated at 804 thousand gallons, down 2% from 2019. Yield is estimated at 0.287 gallons per tap, down 2% from the previous year. Number of taps, at 2.80 million, is unchanged from the previous year.
