Weather Outlook – July 6, 2017

Last week temperatures ranged from more than 3°F below normal to more than 3°F above normal. Precipitation ranged from a less than ¼” to more than 4 inches. Base 50 growing degree-days ranged from less than 70 to more than 170.

Showers today and tomorrow, but looking drier this weekend and into next week…

Today temperatures will be in the mid 70’s and low 80’s with scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially late evening and overnight in southeastern New York. Overnight lows will be in the 60’s for most areas.

Friday highs will be in the mid 70’s and low 80’s with showers and thunderstorms likely. Lows will be in the 60’s for most areas.

Saturday, temperatures will be in the low 70’s to low 80’s with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the first half of the day. Overnight temperatures will be in the low 50’s to low 60’s.

Sunday, highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s with mostly sunny skies. A few showers are possible overnight in western and northern New York. Overnight temperatures will be in the low 50’s to low 60’s.

Monday’s highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s. There’s a slight chance of showers; otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Tuesday, temperatures will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s with partly cloudy skies and scattered showers.

The seven-day precipitation amounts from yesterday through next Wednesday (July 6-13) will range from ¾” to near 2”, with the highest amounts east of Lake Ontario into northern New York.

The 8-14 day outlook (July 13-19) shows near-normal temperatures and near-normal precipitation is slightly favored for the entire state.
