Ag Report Supplement, June 16, 2017
- Wet plus cold has killed lots of corn seedlings in some fields. Replanting may be needed. To make a decision, refer to “Estimating Yield and Dollar Returns from Replanting Corn” at https://www.agry.purdue.edu/ext/pubs/AY-264-W.pdf.
- June 20th is Cornell’s last date for planting soybeans. If you do plant after that, go to a higher maturity group (from Group 1 to early Group 2); increase seeding population by 15K to 20K; plant on narrow rows; and control weeds early. (taken from “Crop Alert”, Mike Stanyard)
