Oh woe! (a haiku)

Lots of people in
China.  First day of sale, 买
不到火车票!

Which begs the question, how DO the people who take the train back home to Xi’an for the National Day holiday get the tickets?  To be fair, the line to the travel agency right by the 苏州街地铁站 (currently the closest subway stop to Beida) was pretty long when I passed by back from work a couple days ago, which was supposedly right when the office opened.  Nowhere near as bad as this, but still pretty bad.

I need to more actively bring my camera with me. I work at 丰联广场 in 朝阳区, right by the 朝阳门地铁站 and they were holding auditions for (what I presume is) a Chinese version of American Idol called 我是星人 in an atrium at the middle of the building. I thought it was a little strange venue selection because the acoustics weren’t very good for judging how well they sing and they were blasting the accompanying CD track, but it was still cool to watch.
