With the exception of just one

who is back in the States to go to a wedding, we are now all here, fifteen strong, safe and sound in Beijing.  I think we’re adjusting fairly well to living here.  This morning was the first time I successfully woke up after 4:30 a.m. and I made it to the dining hall without pulling out the map, so I think I made some solid progress.  The university campus here is pretty big, with an awful lot of buildings and winding roads – on the second day here, Adi and I managed to make a 15 minute walk from our dorm to Weiminghu, a famous lake on campus, to a 30-40 minute trek.  To be fair, it was our second day here.

More pictures and more writing to come when I set up Internet in my room.  I’m at an Internet cafe right now across from the southern gate of the University at 2.5 kuai/hour that is about to throw me off any second.
