The Bouklas Lab is part of the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University. Our research focuses on the mechanical and multiphysical behavior of soft, active, biological and engineering materials, where we employ tools from theoretical and computational mechanics for their study. We work on multiphysics and multiscale problems, focusing on constitutive modeling, fracture, damage, contact and stability, utilizing advanced computational techniques and HPC. Our work on computational mechanics also focuses on the development of novel computational tools and techniques for materials modeling, including machine learning approaches for surrogate modeling and for the solution of PDEs. We are closely aligned with the SciAI Center at Cornell University.
