Strawberries: Root weevils

Weevils are flightless beetles that prey on a variety of host plants, including strawberry. Larval feeding can severely damage strawberry roots. Adults lay eggs on soil from June through September, with one generation per year. Larva feed on roots of host plants throughout winter and spring.
