Below are instructions and resources for the Berry Pest Monitoring Network. For questions or to participate in this statewide monitoring network, please contact Anna Wallis at aew232@cornell.edu.

The network includes a Google Sheet for collecting data & Google Map for displaying data on insect activity and phenology in berry patches across the state, as well as the Berry Pest Monitoring Blog for hosting this information.

2025 NY Berry Pest Monitoring Instructions
In 2025, we will be monitoring for SWD at all sites, and a three additional pests at a few blueberry sites (CBFW, CFW, and BBM). Monitoring instructions for each pest are below.

 

To submit data:

  • Navigate to the Google Sheet for submitting data.
  • Enter the date of the observation. The ‘Week of’ will automatically generate.
  • Enter the Data Collector’s Name
  • Choose the Collection Site Name and Species Name from the dropdown lists
  • Enter the Count (insect trap captures) as a numerical value
