Soil and Water staff will be there in the morning to share the info on the no-till seeder and programs you might want to take advantage of as well.

Select Sire Appreciation Dinner –
Ron Hight contacted me about their dinner coming up on March 8th (next Thursday) at the Best Western in Canton. The meeting starts at 7:00 pm, includes a buffet dinner and is free! Jerry Emerich and Steve Furrow will be guest speakers. Jerry will explain epd’s, and go over bulls and pedigrees. Steve will talk about the Accelerated Genetics acquisition, product review and services SSP offers. There will be an open forum at the end of the meeting. They have invited agri-business representatives, FFA teachers, and some advisory board members from Soil and Water. There are scholarships and summer intern jobs available with Select Sires.

Spring Beef Week – March 14-16
Our Canton meeting it the evening of March 15th. Mike Baker will be here to talk about feeding out beef cattle. Pros and Cons. I’ll have some sample rations and direct marketing information to share. Mike will be available for farm visits during the day. See you there! The meeting will also be in Essex March 13th, Malone March 14th and Watertown March 16th.
