This is a very basic introduction and quick-start for your blogs. You first need to log in to the Cornell blog service here: http://blogs.cornell.edu
and follow these instructions(click on the image to enlarge):
The log in page looks like this:
Once you have logged in, you should be taken to the dashboard of your personal blog. it will look something like the image below, and in the upper right corner is a “Help” button that provides a link to the edublogs support site http://help.edublogs.org. There is a getting started guide, a user guide, and step-by-step tutorials. The guides are somewhat directed to instructors using blogs in educational settings, so some of the instructions may not apply to you. Also note that while the edublogs system is based on WordPress, not all WordPress functionality is available on the edublogs system.
If you use the “Getting Started” guide, ignore the first two instructions:
“Sign up & register blog,” and “Log into blog” as these do not apply to the Cornell system. (you have already been registered, and have logged in to the Cornell blog service).
The start up guide is helpful if this is the first time you have created a blog, and walks you through the basics of posts, pages, editing and publishing, and themes.
The user guide is much more comprehensive and covers a range of topics in depth.
Finally, several students have volunteered to be “blog mentors” and will be available to help you:
Lisa Gusman
Haewon Hwang
Frank Li
Amy Perelberg
TJ Rhee
