Internships

2010 Interns Share Their Experiences

22 AgSci students did their internships in the spring or summer of 2010, and they shared their adventures and advice with other students on September 28.  The six returning interns who presented to the whole group represented the variety of options available to AgSci students, from lab and field research to one-of-a-kind international experiences.

After the presentations, students had the opportunity to talk to the returning interns about their internships and the process of setting up and completing an internship.  Though not all of the returning interns wanted to continue their careers in the field they interned in, all of them attested to the importance of hands-on experience.  Great work, guys!

REMINDER: Thursday, 10/29: Internship Planning Event

On Thursday October 29 the major will host the first internship planning event for all Ag Sciences students. This is a new effort to support the internship search process. Although specifically targeting juniors who have just one season remaining to complete the requirement, this casual, fun event will be open to all students in the major. Additionally, we’ll have a sendoff event in late spring 2010 for all students who have secured internships.

WHAT:       Fall Internship Planning Event
