Milk Quality Training Workshops

Cornell Cooperative Extension, Cornell PRO-DAIRY and Quality Milk Production Services are partnering to offer a three-day regional milk quality training program. This program will be offered statewide at five sites from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm on Jan 8, Feb 5, and March 5,, 2015. Cost is $100 per person, which includes the 3-day program and lunch. It also includes one bedding and bulk tank sample per farm. Register with the regional site.

January 8 – What is Mastitis Costing your Farm?

  • Mammary Physiology & the Basics of Mastitis Culturing.
  • Bovine Mammary Gland Anatomy & Physiology –Importance of a Consistent Milking Protocol.
  • Knowing Your Mastitis Organisms.
  • How to Take a Proper Milk or Bedding Sample for Culture

  • Cow Comfort and its Impact on the Immune System and Quality Milk.
  • Impact of Equipment Maintenance on Milk Quality.
