On Saturday November 8, the world premiere of “Grazers: A Cooperative Story” occurred at the Cambridge Freight Yard. Attended by more than 40 people, many of them farmers who are part of the story, Adirondack Grazers development was captured by the documentary. The movie details the realities of two years of the newly formed cooperative’s life and struggles.
A side project that came out of the process of forming, growing and operating a business formed by farmers to help them market their product, the film captures many of the issues of working with a food system and selling a food product to distant customers.
After a formal premiere at a film festival in New York City, the producers hope this film will help other farmer groups succeed in creating their part of a food system network.
