Do you want to learn more about soil, one of the most important parts of our farms? Over the next couple of weeks I will include some excellent fact sheets created by the Natural Resource Conservation Service that do an excellent job illustrating the importance of soil health.

For starters, a healthy soil is full of life! Learn more here: Healthy Soils Are: Full of Life

Also, don’t forget about our upcoming events, like the Grasstravaganza (http://grasstravaganza.morrisville.edu/), which promises to be an unforgettable event! Speakers include the “Soil Guy” Ray Archuleta, grazing expert Jim Gerrish, and Agri-Dynamics founder Jerry Brunetti. This event will highlight demonstrations, farm tours, and a trade show.

The other not-to-be-missed event is the Soil Health Field Day. At this event, we will be having machinery and soil demonstrations, speakers from NRCS, cover crop demonstration plots, and dinner! For more information on any of these events or soil health, contact Ashley at (518) 272-4210 or arp253@cornell.edu.
