Alumni Career Conversation with Eric Schneider of Corning, Inc.

Alumni Profile: Eric Schneider of Corning, Inc. Cornell BS Mechanical Engineering 1991, MBA 1999

Eric has spent most of his career with Corning Incorporated, leading manufacturing operations, strategy, planning and project management. He joined in 1999 and has worked in multiple divisions, including Photonics, Display, Environmental Products. His current role is Expansion Program Manager for Corning’s newest division, Automotive Glass Solutions, where he recently started up a factory in China. In 2008, he left Corning for 3 years and worked for a medical device startup company, Bioptigen, in North Carolina. As the director of Operations, Eric built the manufacturing, quality, procurement, and customer service systems from scratch. In 2011, he returned to Corning Inc, preferring the larger corporate environment. Between his BS and his MBA, Eric served as a submarine officer in the US Navy; 3 years in Pearl Harbor, and 2 years in Washington, DC. Eric is married, has 2 sons and lives in Horseheads, NY.
