Biography

Erica Pratt joined the Micro/Nanofluidics Laboratory in June of 2008. She completed her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a double major in Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Her previous research includes modeling of epitaxial crystal growth and studying mechanotransduction in cells.

Current Projects

Erica Pratt currently works on the development of microfluidic devices for the isolation and capture of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from blood. She is specifically interested in the functional analyses enabled by these devices and how they can aid in the studies of chemotherapeutic efficacy and metastatic ability.
