We welcome Ashley McFarland to our staff as the regional livestock specialist.  This position was developed to address the educational needs of beef, sheep, goat and swine producers in Chenango, Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Otsego, Saratoga and Schoharie Counties.  Thanks to the CCE associations and Cornell for creating a position that will allow us to better serve an important part of the local ag industry.

Ashley was active in 4-H and livestock in her youth, which drove her interest to pursue an Animal Science BT degree at SUNY Cobleskill and a BS at The Ohio State University.  After graduation, she was a herd health manager for a beef operation and then worked for Agri-King Nutrition as a dairy nutrition consultant.  She and her husband operate a small seedstock farm in Jordanville.  Ashley will be working with livestock producers in Central NY to help them meet their business goals.
