Dr. Randy Worobo is a Professor of Food Microbiology in the Department of Food Science.  He received a B.S. in Food Science in 1990 and a Ph.D. in Food Microbiology in 1995 from the University of Alberta, Canada.  From 1994 – 1997 Randy conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute for Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering at the University of Poitiers, France.  Randy joined Cornell in 1997.

Dr. Worobo’s primary program area in the Department of Food Science is fruit, vegetable, and beverage microbiology.  His expertise area includes food safety, Juice HACCP, non-thermal processing, fruit and beverage safety and spoilage, antimicrobials peptides and proteins, and heat resistance molds and bacteria.
