Origin: Africa and Asia

Biophysical Requirements: Adapted to wide range of climates and soils, but grows slowly when temperatures are below 50°F.

Uses: Grown for its soft fibers in India, China, and Thailand. Kenaf has been tested for possible use in paper in the U.S.
