A statewide agroforestry survey conducted by Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) (not yet published), reported 349 farms in NY using at least one agroforestry practice:
- Forest Farming — 34% (119 farms)
- Windbreaks — 18% (62 farms)
- Riparian buffers — 17% (60 farms)
- Silvopasture — 10.5% (37 farms)
- Other — 10.3% (36 farms)
- Alley Cropping — 10% (35 farms)
- Not yet, but will start — 7% (25 farms)
The Haudenosaunee Environmental Task Force is developing forest management protocol.
