This Website is dedicated to Helping Farmers, Forest Owners, Landowners, and Policy Makers find meaningful ways to Reduce Greenhouse Gases (GHG) from the land.
We are dedicated to identifying meaningful and pragmatic ways for working lands (farms, forests, renewable energy, homeowners) to reduce greenhouse gases. While we are focused on New York State (NYS), much of what is included here would be applicable to locations with similar climate and systems (Northeast USA, temperate zones, etc).
Here, we strive to quantify the benefits of land management strategies so landowners can incorporate climate change into their weekly, annual, or decadal operations. When there are significant co-benefits to profitability, neighbor relations, water quality, diversity, habitat etc, we point it out. Where it is costly to implement, we try to direct landowners to existing programs like cost-share grants already established at the state level.
