Addressing pain points

Over 20 years ago, conversations with NY apple growers made Juliet Carroll, the then fruit IPM coordinator, painfully aware of the number of pesticide application reports they were required to prepare – one for each buyer, packing house, or processor, as well as for US EPA and NYS DEC. And this was before costly crop certification audits became standard operating procedure.

For grape growers, the situation was very similar. So, she developed Trac Software for fruit farmers, based on their input, to meet their reporting requirements. Trac Software v2011 is licensed by the Center for Technology Licensing at Cornell University.

Proven outcomes

Grower surveys have proven that Trac Software improves worker safety, market access, profitability, and sustainability.

There is no limit to the size of the farm, diversity of fruit crop production, or fruit production system that can utilize and achieve benefits from TracCropsTM.

Accurate records of chemical inputs in food production are indispensable in today’s markets. Reports must be produced on demand. As required by law, for buyers and processors, and to fulfil certification audits.

TracCropsTM

The TracCropsTM upgrade paves the way for inclusion of all specialty crops and their clients. Our TracCropsTM improvements are based on stakeholder feedback, collected through ongoing collaborations with growers, buyers, processors, certifiers, and government agencies.

With an easy-to-use interface, robust database, communication platform, and supporting materials, TracCropsTM will enhance record-keeping, traceability, producer-to-market cooperation, pesticide safety, food security, and market access.
