Hello!
Welcome to the Taracena-Agarwal lab at Cornell University!
What do we do here?
We study insects that vector tropical and neglected tropical diseases. We want to learn how to design better vector control strategies to prevent these diseases and improve the lives of millions of people worldwide.
In particular, we study how sex dimorphisms and endocrine responses shape the cells, metabolism, and physiology of nonreproductive organs of disease vectors, such as Aedes aegypti, Anopheles gambiae, and Rhodnius prolixus.
