Julianna is the lab technician in the Specht Lab at Cornell University. She joined the Specht lab in August 2023 and is interested in studying plants and fungi in relation to their potential for mycoremediation and phytoremediation. Additionally, she is interested in studying endophytic fungi for protection of plants from pathogenic fungi and mycotoxins.
Prior to joining the lab, she earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Howard University. Her previous research involved exploring the microfungal diversity of Impatiens marianae and exploring the benefits of an ant-plant association in Vigna unguiculata in the absence of herbivores.
