PRESENTERS

 

  • Joseph Amsili, Extension Associate and Soil Health Program Coordinator with New York Soil Health, will discuss the hidden relationship between the roots of different cover crops and their impacts on soil health. Why roots are important and how they impact carbon inputs, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, aggregate stability, and soil compaction.

 

  • Debbie Aller, Agricultural Stewardship Specialist with CCE Suffolk, will discuss summer cover crop options for Long Island. A demonstration of different cover crop root systems will also be presented.
