SIPS is excited to welcome 27 new students to the Integrative Plant Science Master of Professional Studies (IPS MPS) program.
The IPS MPS is a one-year, course-based master’s degree program. Areas of study cover a wide range of topics in plant and soil sciences including controlled environment agriculture, geospatial applications, soil health, hemp science, public garden leadership, and more. Of the 27 enrolles for 2021, six are in the Controlled Environment Agriculture focus area, four each in Geospatial Applications and Public Garden Leadership, and three each in Hemp Science and Plant Biotechnology. Viticulture, Plant Protection, Soil & Crop Sciences, and Horticulture are also represented. Five students are graduates of international universities and 22 from universities around the US. Fifteen received their undergraduate degrees in the past two years.
A hallmark of the MPS program is the balanced portfolio of technical knowledge, analytical skills and professional development built into the curriculum. The mix of coursework and capstone project equips students with the skill set and knowledge necessary for careers in industry, government, or non-profit agencies.
