CALS has launched a new college-wide faculty hiring initiative, based on transdisciplinary approaches to addressing complex real-world problems. Five Moonshot categories have been identified: Redesigning 21st century agri-food systems, Pioneering Life Science Breakthroughs, Leading in Synthetic Biology, Accelerating Holistic Climate Solutions, Strategic “Wild Card”. Many ideas were generated during our two SIPS Moonshoot sessions on October 20 and October 25. Comments from those discussions have been typed onto Moonshot Boards located in the hall near 135 Plant Science, in the hall adjacent to 233 Emerson, and in Hedrick Hall on the AgriTech campus.
