Gore selected as Fellow of the Crop Science Society of America

head shot cornMike Gore, Liberty Hyde Bailey Professor and Chair of the SIPS Plant Breeding & Genetics Section, has been selected as a Fellow of the Crop Science Society of America for 2022.  Nominated by Saghai Maroof at Virginia Tech, Gore has been a member of the Cornell faculty since 2013. His research program employs various methods including quantitative genetics, analytical chemistry, and remote sensing to understand the genetic basis of complex traits in crops such as maize, oat, cassava, cotton, and sorghum.

Fellow is the highest recognition bestowed by the Crop Science Society of America. Members of the Society nominate worthy colleagues based on their professional achievements and meritorious service. Up to 0.3 percent of the Society’s active and emeritus members may be elected Fellow. Nominees are evaluated on the basis of their mentoring, outreach, leadership, and investigative achievements. Eight fellows in total were elected for 2022.
