Dan Katz, most recently a research postdoctoral fellow at University of Texas Austin, will be starting as a SIPS-wide Senior Research Associate in January 2022. Katz’s research focuses on the intersection of ecology, public health, and aerobiology. He investigates allergenic pollen in urban areas with the ultimate goal of informing plant management decisions for the benefit of human health. Strategies include quantifying pollen production and flowering phenology and use of remote sensing to scale from individual plants to landscapes and to measure and model airborne pollen concentrations over space and time.
