-Jason Londo, currently a Research Geneticist with the USDA-ARS Grape Genetics Unit in Geneva NY, will be starting as an associate professor in the SIPS Horticulture Section in January 2022. Londo has been with USDA-ARS since 2011, researching genetic and phenotypic aspects of environmental stress tolerance and adaptation in different grapevine species. In his capacity as a adjunct associate professor in the Horticulture Section, he has advised SIPS graduate students and collaborated with multiple SIPS faculty. He is also a team member of the VitisGen2 project, a multi-institution research collaboration funded by the USDA-NIFA Specialty Crop Research Initiative for the development of new grape varieties. The position scope for which he was hired is Physiology of Fruit Crop Adaptation to Climate Change and his program will be housed at Cornell AgriTech. Welcome Jason!
