After many months of work by the SIPS communications team, the new SIPS website has launched. The new site features Drupal 8 content management and an updated display consistent with the look and feel of the main CALS web site and Cornell AgriTech site. A new Organic@Cornell site has also recently launched. Eventually, all CALS school and department sites will migrate to the new format.
Features of note on the new SIPS site:
- URL structure: reflects organizational structure of CALS/SIPS/SECTION and designed to enhance search engine optimization
- People profiles: No longer fed by Activity Insight but are now directly editable (Craig Cramer (cdc25@cornell.edu) has trained SIPS admins Tara Reed, Michele Blackmore, Danielle Bushnell and Catalina Enright to edit).
- Graduate Field pages: now located under SIPS > Degrees & Programs
- Seminar Attendance Check-In: Located on SIPS > About > Seminars & Events
- SharePoint: No longer accessed via the page footer but instead located under SIPS > About > Internal School Resources
- Kudos, SIPS COVID FAQ, LibCal, and related links: Also found under About > Internal School Resources
Features still in process by CIT and CALS Marketing & Communications:
- Alphabetization of people profiles
- Means for easy integration of non-Cornell news into news feeds
- Tables
If you have suggestions or questions about the organizational rationale or specific content, contact Magdalen Lindeberg (ml16) and/or Craig Cramer (cdc25). Jenn Thomas-Murphy (jnt3) is the main contact for Organic@Cornell as well as Field Crops, migration of which will be happening in the near future.
