Teaching & Learning in the Diverse Classroom is a four-week, asynchronous online course open to Cornell faculty and staff, for any level of diversity expertise. Anchored in stories and self-reflection, modules explore diversity, social identities, and power dynamics; strategies for inclusive course design; and pedagogical practices that effectively support student engagement and a sense of belonging across difference. Faculty Learning Community for Inclusive Teaching
6 Fridays from 11 AM-12 PM, beginning October 2
This six-week, peer-to-peer discussion program runs concurrently with Teaching & Learning in the Diverse Classroom. Participants meet weekly via Zoom to explore course-related topics and strategies focused on creating and sustaining inclusive learning environments. Faculty teaching credit-bearing, semester-length courses at Cornell may apply.
Let’s Get Real: Empowering Yourself to Talk about Race in the Classroom
Friday December 11, 2020, 11:00 am – 12:15 pm
Through facilitated dialogues, participants in Let’s Get Real workshops reflect on diversity and group dynamics in teaching and learning. This semester, join colleagues for an opportunity to reflect on race, racism, and antiracist choices in our learning environments. 6 Thursdays from 11:10-12, beginning Oct 1
This six-week online program for postdoctoral scholars and graduate students runs concurrently with Teaching & Learning in the Diverse Classroom. Participants meet via Zoom to discuss ways to create and sustain inclusive learning environments. Identify practical, evidence-based strategies appropriate for your discipline and future teaching plans.
