Eight faculty members affiliated with the School of Integrative Plant Science have been named by the Web of Science Group to the 2019 list of highly cited researchers in their fields. They include SIPS faculty Adam Bogdanove (Cross-field), Johannes Lehmann (Agricultural Science, Environment & Ecology), Mark Sorrells (Agricultural Science), and Susan McCouch (Cross-field). SIPS adjunct and courtesy faculty making the list are Jean-Luc Jannink (Agricultural Science), Ed Buckler (Molecular Biology & Genetics), Jim Giovannoni (Plant & Animal Science), and Zhangjun Fei (Cross-field).
Forty-four Cornell faculty are included on the 2019 list in addition to seven at Cornell Medical Center and one at Weill Cornell. For this analysis, the papers surveyed were those published and cited during 2008-2018 and which at the end of 2018 ranked in the top 1% by citations for their field and year. Web of Science is a website which provides subscription-based access to multiple databases that provide comprehensive citation data for many different academic disciplines. It is currently maintained by Clarivate Analytics (previously the Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters).
