Congratulations to Plant Sciences Majors Jeffery Yen, Sheng Qian, and Hannah Fuller, honored at the 2019 CALS Awards Banquet. Yen and Qian received awards for the highest GPA in the Plant Sciences and in a double major, respectively.

Hannah Fuller, majoring in Plant Sciences and International Agriculture and Rural Development, with a  minor in Community Food Systems, won the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence, in recognition of her achievements in academics and leadership. Among her many activities at Cornell, Fuller has served as a CALS Ambassador to represent the college to outside groups and participated in the development and leadership of Annabel’s Grocery, a student-led initiative to operate a grocery store on Cornell’s campus that addresses food insecurity among students. Fuller was also selected as a CALS Global Fellow, providing her the opportunity to spend a summer working in Uttar Pradesh, India where she focused on a qualitative analysis of why farmers adopt the orange-fleshed sweet potato, a beta-carotene rich tuber successfully promoted in East Africa as a solution to vitamin A deficiency.
