[emailed to SIPS personnel on October 2, 2016]
Hello SIPS Community
There are a few events I’d like to remind you of in my interim update this month. We will be having our SIPS Fall Symposium Tuesday October 11 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM in B25 Warren Hall. Jim Giovannoni will give the plenary lecture from 2:00 – 3:00 PM followed by lightning talks from 3:00 – 4:00 PM and a poster session/reception from 4:00 – 6:00. Hope to see everyone there!
Faculty please save the date. We will have a SIPS-wide faculty meeting on Tuesday December 6 from 3:30 – 5:00 PM in room 404 Plant Science. Provost Kotlikoff will join our meeting from 3:30 – 4:00 to meet the SIPS faculty and have an open discussion. The meeting will be broadcast to other campuses. More information will be provided by your Section Chair as the date gets closer.
I know Greg Martin sent an update on the Director search and it’s great to hear that the search is progressing on schedule. We hope to begin interviews in early-mid November. Greg will send out more information once interview dates are finalized.
