SiGMA organizes several events that are oriented towards the professional development of graduate students of MAE. Our key events include Sibley Graduate Research Symposium (SGRS) and SiGMA seminar series.
SGRS
SGRS is aimed towards providing the opportunity for MAE graduate students to present their research among peers in professional conference format. It promotes academic collaboration among MAE students by introducing students to different exciting research fields of each other.
SiGMA Seminar Series
SiGMA Seminar Series provides a platform to MAE graduate students to practice their research presentations for A/B exam or a conference. The presentation is attended by MAE students and the environment is informal where the speaker receives feedback from the students.
Interested in giving a presentation?
A-Exams, B-exams or a conference talk coming up? Come share your research with us over lunch!
The SiGMA seminar series, sponsored by GPSAFC and open to the graduate community, gives you the opportunity to present your research among peers. This is an invitation for speakers to present their research at SiGMA seminars for Fall 2019.
The seminar will be from 12:00 – 1:00 PM on Mondays (mostly). The length of the presentation can be from 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on your preference. Come support your friends and provide feedback in an informal setting. It is also a great opportunity to practice and finally add labels to those graphs before the official presentations.
The available dates are: October 10th, October 28th, November 4th, November 18th, December 2nd, and December 16th.
We can also accommodate speakers on other dates as long as you notify us two weeks before. The available dates above will based on first come first serve. If you wish to present on any of these days, please send an e-mail to pnm24@cornell.edu or knh37@cornell.edu with your preferences. Upson 116 (Lounge) has been reserved.
