Housing

Your housing location will serve as your headquarters throughout Reunion weekend. You will use it for small gatherings, social hours, and several meals including Thursday dinner. Consequently, you will want your housing to be visually attractive, well-organized, and smoothly run. Please keep the following in mind:

Conference Services Staff

Conference Services staff members will assist you with preparations while providing information and guidance on various housing-related issues. Far in advance, make sure to address topics such as accessibility, the housing pre-assignment process, lounge space, kitchen areas, bulletin boards, and secure storage areas. Throughout the year, you must also update your Conference Services staff contact about how you will be using the residence hall for events. In addition, arrange a brief meeting with your Conference Services staff contact in June so you can introduce them to your committee members and your clerks, and so you can review last-minute details. You should plan to connect regularly with your Conference Services staff contact to ask housing-related questions and keep them updated on your plans, needs, and ideas as it relates to space use.

Housing Costs

The fees for university housing are determined annually. Daily rates for adults and children are available, as well as a special three-night package rate. Towels and bedding are included, but housekeeping service is not. Housing fees are collected as part of the registration process. Alumni Affairs will transfer housing funds collected via registration directly to Conference Services after Reunion. A summary of the number of beds used most recently is located in the appendix. Please note: refunds for housing cancellations made after May 24 cannot be guaranteed. This refund guarantee deadline is aligned with the refund guarantee deadline for class/group registration package fees.

Housing for Children and Youth

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to stay in residence halls. Children 16 years of age and older may have a room next to their parent(s)/guardian, but children under 16 must share a room with their parent(s)/guardian. Please encourage peers with young children to bring portable cribs, sleeping bags, or air mattresses. There will be no fee for children who are not sleeping in a bed in the room shared with their parent(s)/guardian.

Hotels

Hotel space in Ithaca is limited! The 65th, 70th, 75th, and 80th Reunions are housed in the Statler Hotel, and the 60th has a small block of rooms there. The Statler is not available for any other class or group. Class Programs has reserved Reunion room blocks at several Ithaca hotels. Rooms within these blocks may be reserved directly by individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Reunion hotel blocks will open in mid-November once information on hotel accommodations has been sent to Reunion year alumni.

Housing Accessibility

Cornell places considerable emphasis on campus accessibility. Dorms have a limited number of accessible rooms, which are indicated on housing rosters. In addition, the Reunion website will provide information about accessibility transportation. If you have any questions about Cornell facilities or need assistance, reach out to your Reunion staff contact.

No Smoking and No Pets

Smoking is not permitted in the rooms, and pets are not allowed, with the exception of service animals.

Early Arrivals for Reunion Committee Members

In the spring, Reunion chairs will be asked to submit a list of key committee members from their class/group arriving Tuesday or Wednesday of Reunion week to assist with setup. For early arrivals, Conference Services offers each class or group 16 bed nights of free housing.
