Uneventful trip after leaving Crescent River just after sunrise. We got to the Morningstar Marina on Lanier Island (near Brunswick GA and St. Simons Island) in early afternoon. We stayed here on the way back from our last trip, and really liked the place–we made a note to come back. They had a courtesy car that we could take to the grocery store, free muffins delivered to the boat each morning, a good restaurant, nice showers, and a friendly and helpful staff. The only thing left now is the friendly and helpful staff. No car, no muffins, no restaurant, and showers out of order–all with a higher price. Uber operates here, so at least we can get to the Harris Teeter to provision. After the Safe Harbor in Charleston and now this Morningstar, I am getting the impression that these big companies that bought up all of the marinas are not very consistent in keeping up the quality. We’ll spend an extra day here anyway, getting things reorganized and trying to rest a bit.
