The Rise of Streaming Services as a Leading Entertainment Field

We live in a digital era that is positively immersed in and surrounded by great feats of rapid digitalisation and technological advancement from every possible angle. As such, industries that thrive in alignment with these concepts and ideals are flourishing and thriving more than ever.

Take the entertainment industry, for example. This is an industry that has performed exceptionally well over the years due to the consistent demand for new material. Viewers and listeners around the globe are drawn to entertainment because naturally we tend to get bored sometimes. This is by no means something to break down and analyse to its finest detail – it is quite simply a fact. Today, one of the the biggest fields in the entertainment industry happens to be that of the on-demand streaming services that we have all grown so accustomed to in recent years.

Today, streaming services are becoming more and more popular, with original streaming services like Foxtel and Netflix still performing quite strongly while emerging streaming service platforms throw their hat in the ring for consideration too. These days, live TV streaming is all about embracing the fact that we can have all the entertainment in the world right at our very fingertips – all we have to do is sign up for an account and away we go. This is the latest and greatest evolution in entertainment, and it gets better and better all the time. Streaming services are always evolving, shifting into their next evolutionary stage and transforming from the inside out in the process. It seems that there is a new program being released on any given streaming service every other day, and why not? Give the people what they want.

The rise of the streaming service has been ongoing for quite some time now, but it has recently kicked into high gear, with two of the biggest names in entertainment and technology entering the streaming service race. In the last year alone, both Apple and Disney have released their specialties to the world – and the response for both highly anticipated releases has been nothing short of deafening. The force to be reckoned with in the streaming service landscape seems to be Disney +. In a relatively short time since its release, it has acquired millions of subscribers. In fact, there were individuals signing up for a year of the streaming service before it was even released. Also, the fact that Disney is not only the most magical entertainment powerhouse to date, but in addition owns some of the other most powerful entertainment empires in the game (Pixar, Marvel, National Geographic, Fox, etc). This means it has more high-quality content and beloved classics than any other service.

At the end of the day, streaming services are all about providing viewers with the optimal access to all the entertainment content they want, in the comfort of their own homes. Streaming services have been steadily becoming more and more powerful all the time for this specific reason (among others, of course). The rise of the streaming service era in entertainment is only just getting started. Now firmly established as a leading field in entertainment, streaming services are getting bolder and smarter all the time. There is the distinct realisation that consumers want the content and they want it now – a realisation that streaming services are only too happy to oblige by. Streaming services bring the magic and wonder of entertainment value to you wherever you happen to be at the time, and that is something to be inspired by and thankful for. There is a lot to be said about the powerful shift of entertainment in recent years, and the central role that streaming services have played in that industry-wide shift.

While the magic of cinema will never die, there is comfort and magic in having all your favourite entertainment with you at home, too. The digital era that we have become exceedingly more comfortable and familiar with in recent years is an era that has been going from strength to strength for the most part, thanks largely to the consistent demand for content from consumers around the globe. As is always the case, where there is demand comes inevitable supply. Today, one of the most popular fields of entertainment there is around the globe is without a doubt the ongoing rise of streaming services. From the pioneering streaming services like Foxtel and Netflix, to the new kids on the block like Apple TV and Disney +, streaming services are more in demand than ever. In fact, it is highly likely (if not certain) that streaming services will always be a dominant force in entertainment from this point on. And why shouldn’t it be? Armed with convenience and efficiency to the nines, streaming services have it all (and then some).
