Funding for this project has come from two separate Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies Multistate Conservation Grants. Using funds from the 2016 Multistate grant, an assessment tool was developed to evaluate the alignment of agency traits and practices with the Wildlife Governance Principles. The tool was tested in Florida, Michigan, Montana, and New York.

The 2017 Multi-State Conservation Grant provided partial funding for training state agency staff about Wildlife Governance Principles.
