JoVE Core Civil Engineering  is designed to provide a detailed understanding of essential civil engineering materials and techniques through engaging and easy-to-understand animated videos. This release features 65 animated videos that cover five key chapters:

·  Masonry Materials: This chapter introduces various masonry units and steel reinforcements, examining their properties and manufacturing processes. It delves into the practical applications of these materials in construction, emphasizing their strengths and advantages.

·  Masonry Construction Techniques: Explore effective masonry practices, from bricklaying to using reinforcement bars, and learn about the benefits and methods involved in constructing with these materials.

·  Wood in Construction: This chapter covers the sources and products of wood and details the processes of treating and using wood in construction. It offers insights into the advantages of using different types of wood and their suitability for various construction purposes.

·  Introduction to Concrete: This chapter focuses on concrete’s essential components—cement, aggregates, and water—and discusses their composition and critical roles in concrete’s strength and durability.

·  Aggregates and Water in Concrete: Delve deeper into the key elements of concrete, exploring the role of aggregates in providing structure and stability and the significance of water in binding the mixture together.
