Gene Regulation and Dysregulation in Brain Development

schematic of gene regulation in brain development

The Papadimitriou lab studies how chromatin regulation, transposons, and the regulation of large multi-gene families of ion channels, generates neuronal diversity during development. We focus on gene regulatory mechanisms that are perturbed in human psychiatric and neurological disorders. The lab uses sophisticated epigenomics methods, spatial transcriptomics, and imaging in mouse and human iPS cell culture models of brain development.
