Population Medicine & Diagnostic Sciences

  • The Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences’ mission is to promote health, productivity, and welfare of food- and fiber-producing animals, companion animals, and wildlife populations; ensure safety of foods of animal origin; and prevent animal disease with its associated risks to human health.

Microbiology & Immunology

  • The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is engaged in research in infectious disease and host immune response. They study a range of pathogens, including viruses, bacteria and parasites, and other insults such as toxins. Their immunology interests stretch from understanding immune protection to vaccine development.

Baker Institute for Animal Health

  • The James A. Baker Institute for Animal Health is one of the oldest research centers dedicated to the study of veterinary infectious diseases, immunology and genetics. Discoveries made at the Baker Institute have important implications for all animals, including humans.

Animal Health Diagnostic Center 

  • The Diagnostic Lab seeks to improve the health of animals and to prevent communicable diseases or conditions that have an impact on human health through diagnostic testing and more.

Cornell Center for Wildlife Conservation

  • From individual animals to species to ecosystems, the Cornell Center for Wildlife Conservation strives to conserve fish and wildlife through education, service, and multi-disciplinary research across the globe.

Aquatic Animal Health Program

  • The Aquatic Animal Health Program is part of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. The overall objectives of the program are to provide research, diagnostic service, teaching, and outreach functions, with an emphasis on economically and environmentally important issues in fish health.
