The sidewalk between Stimson Hall and Olin Library will be partially closed on 9/14 at 7am to remove a damaged guardrail on Olin Library Terrace. Estimated time for project – 4 hours. Exit doors from Olin Library (emergency only) and Stimson Hall will not be blocked.
The stairs to the Olin Library Terrace will be blocked from the top and bottom for work on the illuminated handrail. Estimated time for project – 2 weeks.
On Saturday, 9/7 a crane will be operating along the north side of the building, removing the existing stairs and benches on the terrace. Amit Bhatia Libe Café and a portion of the public reading room facing the Arts Quad, north of 104/105/Reference will be closed all day for safety.
An open Q&A session for OKU staff will be held on 8/21 at 3PM in 106G Olin Library. Please plan on attending if you have any questions about the schedule and impact of the project.
The Olin Library Terrace Renewal project has been awarded to the same contractor who successfully renovated the Olin Library entrance last summer, Streeter Associates of Elmira.
