Two learning opportunities for dairy cow feeders are coming up at the beginning of November 2020.  A two-day Online Feeder School will be offered in English one week and Spanish the next, followed by an On-Farm Feeder Workshop.  This will be a bilingual event taking place on different days in Corfu and Clifton Springs, NY.

The Online Feeder School is a 2-part program offered in Spanish and English. The same presentations will be offered in both the English and Spanish sessions. Each day of Online Feeder School will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm ET. The session in English will take place on November 3th and 5th, 2020. The session in Spanish will take place on November 10th and 12th, 2020.

Each two-day school will cover the topics of monitoring dry matter content in forages, managing the feed in front of the cows, dealing with the forage bunk face, and troubleshooting issues that may arise with the mixer wagon when combining feed.  Following best management practices around handling forages and feeding dairy cows can promote health, productivity, efficiency, and profitability in a herd.  The school will feature Bill Stone, DVM, with Diamond V, along with CCE Regional Dairy Specialists and members of Cornell PRO-DAIRY.

The cost of this school is being covered by the generous support of various agribusinesses.
