Ag & Markets Commissioner Certifies Grape Losses for 15 varieties

August 15: 2014.  New York State Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets Richard Ball certified  grape losses associated with winter injury exceeding 40% of a normal crop for 15 wine grape varieties.  These include Northern Grape cultivars La Crescent, Brianna, and Frontenac.  This action allows wineries with a Farm Winery License to purchase fruit from out-of-state producers.  […]
