Interested in making your event more welcoming to neurodivergent people (and anybody who dislikes loud or overstimulating environments)? Ever wish the LSC Sensory Room could go places that is … well … not the LSC? The Pop-Up Sensory Room is just the thing for you!

We established this service to be exactly what it sounds like – the Pop-Up Sensory Room lets interested event hosts borrow a set of sensory items so that they may cater to their attendees!

Who Can Use It?

This service is open to students and faculty/staff who represent Cornell-affiliated organizations (clubs, administrative departments, academic programs, etc.). This ensures interested event hosts from a variety of groups can have easy access to this resource.

How to Use the Pop-Up Sensory Room

  1. Find item(s) that you’re interested in from the catalog below. You may choose to borrow the entire Pop-Up Sensory Room at once, or select a few (or even one) specific item.
  2. Fill out the Pop-Up Sensory Room Request Form, and wait for us to approve your request via email. Alternately, email us at neurodiversity@cornell.edu with the following information: (1) Name of your organization, (2) Brief description of your event, (3) Specific item(s) you’d like to borrow, and (4) Specific duration of time you’d like to borrow our service for.
  3. Once you’re finished, we will give you up to 1 week (7 days) after the end of your requested duration of time to return the items to us. Please note that we may request items back earlier if they are currently being requested by a different organization.
  4. All items are non-renewable – you must repeat this process to request the Pop-Up Sensory Room for a subsequent event.
  5. Please take good care of our supplies while you’re borrowing them from us!

For more detailed information, please refer to the Pop-Up Sensory Room Official Policies. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us at neurodiversity@cornell.edu
