Lindiwe Majele Sibanda is Director of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence in Food Security. Previously, she served as CEO of Linds Agricultural Services, a Zimbabwean firm involved in agricultural advisory services, farming, meat manufacturing and retail. She had earlier served as the head of Mission of the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) and the Vice President for Country Support, Policy, and Delivery at the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). Globally, Lindiwe is a recognized leader; currently co-Chair of the Global Alliance for Climate Smart Agriculture (GACSA) and Board member for World Veg. She has served as trustee and adviser to numerous international food security-related initiatives, including serving as the Board Chair of the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI). She is a serving member of, the SDG Target by 2030 Champions 12.3, aimed at halving food loss and waste by 2030; a commissioner for the EAT-Lancet Commission on Sustainable Healthy Food Systems. She is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Pretoria and has served as a university professor in agriculture, animal sciences and veterinary sciences. She holds a BSc Degree from the University of Alexandria in Egypt and MSc and PhD, University of Reading, UK.
